TR2/3/3A Advice on how to get VIN number stamped into new plate

Getting very close to finishing up my TR3 restoration and I got one of those new plates for the VIN under the hood. Does anyone have advice on where or how to get the my VIN number stamped into the new plate?

I bought a set of lettered punches at Princess Auto for just this purpose. After careful alining in a bit of a jig, it worked well. To give the new plate some patina I threw it into a tin of old nuts and bolts and gave it a good shake. Worked out well.

Awesome! Princess Auto... I didn't think of them. I'll check it out.
 
Please note, the originals are not exact, so don't get it too perfect
 
I purchased a full set of 3/16 letter/number stamps from amazon for less than$20.
Lots to choose from so you can get close to original fonts.

My advice is to save the original plate and by going inside the car and( using longer rivets), fix it to the backside
of the new one.

Anyone know what the original fonts were?

They were stamped in Triumph and MG cars, hand etched in all the Lotus cars I've seen (or owned).
Haven't yet found a good set of stamps to mimic the original fonts. Close, but not "concourse correct".
