The "Pox" are all dried over and disappearing...
but the nerve pain can still be debilitating

I can't even imagine. Hope it subsides soon. I had a good friend who developed Shingles and I remember how miserable he was for quite a while.

Dave, it's been almost a month and I think I'm past the quick recovery
Probably have a least 2 more weeks before I can even contemplate work

Hope itโ€™s not too much longer.... before youโ€™re feeling better.

I got the pneumonia shot and the flu shot. Suspect I will shortly be getting the shingles shot. Don't know why I've put it off. Please feel better soon.

Warning on that Shingles Vaccine
It WILL knock you on your butt for a couple days
But it sure beats the alternative

I really wished I didn't know that. However I agree with you. Will get the shot when Doug is home and he can be my caregiver AGAIN. Poor guy, here he thought he was done with the caregiving.

I had no reaction to the Shingles vaccine. So you may also find it does not affect you adversely. I hope that is the case.

Was it a double dose...probably not.
There is a new vaccine that has 2 doses and they are recommending those that had the old ...get the new.
Sorry

It's called Shingrix

Shingles is also known as Herpes Zoster. The aftermath can last for several months. The worst place to get it is on the face. Your eyes can be affected - negatively. I had no aftereffects but then I was a kid.

Just saw an advert on TV about a class action suit regarding some vaccine called something like Zosavax (sp?) which is supposed to prevent Shingles but may actually cause it.

Talked to my doctor about this vaccine this week. I already had the Zostravax and will get the Shingrix. However, it's apparently in short supply right now and I was advised to call back in June. Here's some good info on the two vaccines: https://www.webmd.com/skin-problems...12/new-shingles-vaccine_what-you-need-to-know

You are contagious before you break out. Then the rash, then the pain. 1-3 weeks is the earliest but pain can come and go for a year. Had chicken pox 60 yrs ago, but never shingles. Got the shot, no reaction. Wife has had the shot, but, everytime she has a worry or upset situation, she breaks out. Couple times a yr. Dr. Says she'll have to learn to live with it and will give her a viral med everytime, tells her to quit worrying and quit getting upset. Lives with me, OH well! ๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝ

Sounds Oriental to me! Where is it made? PJ
