AARGH! & A SURVEY

For those of you wondering what Bedouin(beige)looks like, I quickly uploaded a few pics of my MGB for viewing. Had a cheap camera with a few shots left over on a roll, so I decided to finish the roll off on my B. I didn't compress the images much, so it will take some time to load for slow connections. If you are using a dial up connection, it might stop before all is loaded on the screen - just hit refresh and it will finish. Let me know what you think!!

That's a beautiful exterior color! Don't think I've ever seen one before. But is that horn button original?
 
Guess I'm gonna give in & paint it back to its original (bleeech!) TEAL BLUE color!

Nope, the horn button isn't original.

When I first got the car 20 years ago, the first thing I replaced was the black ball shifter knob with a walnut aftermarket. I looked at that ugly rubber/plastic horn center and felt I had to do something about it. The horn center on 71 really was cheap looking if you ask me.

I liked the walnut so much, I decided to make a new horn center. Spent a saturday afternoon and traced the old one to make a new one out of Walnut. Tapered the sides and did a lot of sanding! I want to try again with another design someday. I like the walnut finish, but want a little more detail on the edges. Maybe some sort of dark border.

BTW: It's hard to see what it truly looks like in the photo - it's really a beautiful finish that matches the shifter perfectly. It looks thinner in real life too - the photo makes it look a little strange.
 
Clean, sweet car...makes me want to find a '71 so i can paint it Bedouin!

Why weren't any of the choices "red"? What could possibly be better than an "arrest me red" sports car?

Yea, Tony, I have just about given up on keeping the pictures in my signature. I can get them to work for a week or so then they stop. Same problem on both BBS. Got to be something with the Webshots thing.
 
gerry....Talk with chuck - he can solve your problem! Or send your photos to me in an email & I'll add them to 'theList' on my site so all you have to do is & the properties to get them to show up

MGASteve...reason I didn't think about using red is because this car is being built for resale...to get the deepest, brightest color of red, I'd have to spend lots of extra $$$'s & time on the body - $$$'s & time I'd not recoup....of course if somebody wants to paint it ed themselves, I'll sell it at any time in 'as is' condition (whatever that might be at the time)!
 
I like teal, but since you dont, my second choice would be black tulip. FWIW
