yeah, not a real GSX... Would be nice if it was both those are at a premium right now. It's got the 455 big block, and I'm going to go through and do more of a pro-touring type of build on it.

yeah, the Hemi killer. Originally it would have been Saturn Yellow. Previous owner painter it Corvette competition yellow, looks good. Has a dent in the front passenger fender I'll fix, nothing too crazy though.

I really like the new FITECH systems so I may do a mild build on the engine and see what I can come up with. I haven't gotten home to see the car yet but I can hear an exhaust leak on the passenger side so I know that needs to be fixed right off the bat. I also see the vacuum advance disconnected on the distributor. I'm going to probably do a mild performance build on the engine and also swap the TH350 trans for a 200-4r I've got lying around. I want the car to look on the outside and inside, just as it looked in 1971... With the exception that I will probably have the factory looking buick wheels in 17, due to bigger brakes being added. I will redo the interior in black, and will add the buick console to it with the horseshoe shifter. Really just want a nice driving, nice looking car that's reliable enough to get in and drive anywhere and also still lay down the rubber when needed. Previous owner said it has patches put on the frame rails so I'm going to get home and take a look at that. he said it was safe and he'd been driving it for 12 years no problems, but I may just get a good A body frame, hang all new suspension and brakes on it and pull the front end off the car... set everything on the new frame and be good... Then again, that takes me into frame off resto territory and we all know how those can spiral out of control.

I've always had a soft spot for the high-performance Buicks. Just something about a car that is more frequently associated with a family car than high performance. My family owned three of the "family" types: a '66 Special, '73 LeSabre and a '79 Century. I learned to drive on the latter two cars. When the Grand National came on the scene in the 1980s, it was amusing that a Buick was taking on all comers and leaving them in the dust.

Is that a '71 or '72 Skylark? They are virtually indistinguishable from each other. IIRC, the A-body was "held over" for the 1972 model year because the new body style that ended up debuting in 1973 wasn't ready yet. I've always wanted a 1973 Gran Sport Stage 1 with a 4 speed. It may have not been the fastest of the muscle car Buicks, but I always liked the look of it.

The forward mounted dizzy could cause problems if the cap wasn't quite sealed and you hit a puddle of water. I learned about that the hard way going down a hill in the LeSabre and ended up having to bring the car in "dead stick" after the motor conked out.

It's a 71, although it has a 70 grill. I like the idea of keeping the Buick engine it has, just making it better. The grand national is giving me the trans(200-4Runner).. Though it'll be beefed up substantially. Muscle car with luxury will definetly be the main theme though... I've got a soft spot for the black turbo buicks, I've got a typhoon that I love as well. Here's a video of it running, has a header leak on the passenger side. I'll dig into it when I get home.
