Hi All,
John Timms of BCC presented a Healey door mirror idea for pre-BJ7 models that I thought was both creative, practical, and should be shared. Wanting side door mirror without having to drilling new holes, John inserted round chrome Harley Davidson motorcycle mirrors into the forward side curtain mounting hole of each door to provide an easily adjusted rear view that can also be quickly removed without evidence. According to John, these $25 mirrors appear period correct, fit perfectly into the side curtain mounting holes, and come with height adjusting shims and acorn nuts for retaining adjustment settings. For the non-farsighted Healey owner who has difficulty setting or seeing through their Lucas wing mirrors and doesn’t want to drill new holes, these seem to be a great solution.
All the best,
Ray (64BJ8P1)
