A fuel problem, Maybe, maybe not

I wonder about the fuel filter you have BEFORE the pump.
It could be that the filter is tite enough to put a restriction that the facet cant pull enough fuel at your high demand running rate. I also have tha facet pump but I use a simple strainer before the pump and a can fuel filter after the pump this setup seems to work just fine.

I would agree with Chris! A simple strainer before the pump for unrestricted flow and a filter after to clean the fuel!

Here is the follow up. I bypassed the filters with no change. Now I have a stronger fuel pump with a fuel pressure regulator set to just over three pounds of pressure. I have changed out the electronic dizzy with a points dizzy. I also had a new Mallory dual point dizzy that will be tried as soon as I get the drive gear. All this seems to have solved the problem. I drove the car a few days ago on the Interstate for about five miles and, so far, all seems good. I have not been able to drive much more than that, but will next week. In replacing the distributor the timing was reset so that may have come into play. This problem has gone on for months due to my lack of time to work on it. Luckily, I also have a big Healey that lets me get my "driving fix" once in awhile. I will let all know how the car does next week. Thanks for checking back in!
