Now THAT sounds much more correct!
I would go with the .020 bearings and call it good.
By the way- Sarastro said that you lost your heattreat at .020, if I recall correctly the heat treat is actually .005 for nitriding and less than .010 for the tufftriding. I don't worry about it!

Yeah, that sounds much better. See what you get with plastigage and new bearings and it'll almost certainly be within spec.

Had to make an adapter that bolts to a standard engine stand so I could use the two bolts where the bracket for the altenator sits so I can rotate the engine from the side to get the front and back plate off. delays, delays
Always sucks when you have to stop and make something so you can continue. Will post a pic of it. works pretty good.

So what is the secret to removing crankshaft pulley retaining nut?

The book says use a spanner wrech? What size nut is that? I measured 1.33" = 1 3/8" Approx.

Already busted my knukles once, so I'm letting her take a breather before I *^#@)@#)@! the heck out of it.

And what is the torque going back on?

Impact wrench and a 1-5/16" socket.

I tried for a couple of days with various cheater bars. Then I bought a compressor and impact wrench. Took about 5 seconds to remove the nut.

If your cheap like me put a bar or large screwdriver thru the starter mount hole to engage the teeth on the ring gear then regular socket and breaker bar on the flywheel bolt.

LOL, I never turn down an excuse to buy new tools Bwa ha ha.
Just got back from the Tractor supply company Ok so I might have gone a little overboard. $1000.00 for a new air compressor (mine was shot) a 3/4" 1000 ft lb torque impact gun and a set of 3/4" sockets. I love my wife, well if that is what you need get it. Of course 3 weeks ago we spent 500+ on stuff for the garden so it balances out. I will have it apart tonight FOR SURE!

Hey in case anyone wants the plans for my mount I made, it was out of 4x2 U channel, bolts right to an existing engine mount stand, and uses the two holes for the altenator bracket on the side of the engine. I went ahead and made them in Powerpoint:

Woooohhhhoooo Engine is back in, Cold start 55 psi, at normal operating tempature 40 PSI at an idle it is 30 psi! I think I am back on the road!
