I decided to replace my 72 TR6 4-speed transmission with the Miata 5-speed.

The TR6 clutch and transmission worked flawlessly. No mechanical issues with it, I just travel longer distances in my car and needed the five speed for highway use.

Located in Collingwood Ontario, can be brought to Toronto. Please reach out with offers.

How are you liking the Miata 5-speed? Just curious cause I was think about doing that to my TR3.
Thanks,
Joel
Very pleased with it. It allows me to cruise down the highway at 105 km an hour, at 2200 RPM. Very smooth shifting. Three things to be aware of: 1/the clutch pedal is a bit heavy to push down on, can be a bit tiring if you are on a long trip with lots of shifts. 2/ be aware that your speedometer will be out of calibration. On my car it actually works out that I just double the number that the needle is pointing to and that is my speed. 3/ the stick shift is longer than the original TR6, so the knob positions may or may not be comfortable for you. It wouldn't be difficult to shorten it if needed. None of these are deal breakers by any sense, extremely pleased with the decision.
