TR6 '71 TR6 has arrived

Tr3 drivers drawing is the correct license plate light but your bumper has no holes for it. I suspect with this car being from Belguim, you are going to run into a number of things that are different than US export cars. There are creative ways to get around most. That license [late light assembly will set you back for up to $200 for a good chrome finished one! Or, just buy a license plate frame with the built in light to make you legal.

On my 6's(all later than a 71 and all US) the lights are mounted in the trunk, by the lock, facing down)

Mine is the same as swift six.

Don't ya just hate to drill into good chrome? I know it's not authentic for the year, but I would use the later trunk mounted plate lights and cut the holes above the license plate.

Thanks everyone ... I think that the car must have had a frame with a built in light: it would explain the dangling wires just behind that position, in the trunk. Where it has gone to is anyone's guess, but I don't have it.

I have had the engine running today, but it has issues. I'll start a separate thread about those /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Are plate lights a legal requirement?

Not original. What do you have for a license plate illumination?
