Flat-tappet Engines should be lubricated during break-in with oils having a high concentration of zinc, { ZDDP } One lubricant providing sufficient zinc is Lucas Oil Break-in Additive, wich is added to a good hi quality racing oil such as Valvoline VRI or oil similar to the castrol 20/50 oil

Do not use synthetic oils before completing the break in.

Transmission can use a 30 t0 40 weight racing oil

There are other options that will fit this criteria and others listers will chime in--Keoke

Joe Gibbs Break-in Oil for the engine. You'll get varying opinions about how long before switching to regular oil. I ran mine about an hour before dumping it.

30W nondetergent oil for the tranny and overdrive.

I also used Gibbs break-in oil. I've run it in for 1.5 hours so far and I seem to recall my parents were always told to break-in their new cars for 500 miles before changing to regular oil, of course, this was 50 or so years ago.
