Flat-tappet Engines should be lubricated during break-in with oils having a high concentration of zinc, { ZDDP } One lubricant providing sufficient zinc is Lucas Oil Break-in Additive, wich is added to a good hi quality racing oil such as Valvoline VRI or oil similar to the castrol 20/50 oil
Do not use synthetic oils before completing the break in.
Transmission can use a 30 t0 40 weight racing oil
