TR2/3/3A 57 TR3 Newbie...No spark? Basket case

It fired up instantly and purred like a kitten. We rigged up a hillbilly gas funnel We had lubed the cylinders a ways back. I did video it and will put it on our you tube site, it was a great moment, No smoke either. Ya never know though down the road, but at least it ran great for a good minute or so. Thanks again for the tips. YEA! Im not sure how to upload pics of this beast yet but will once I do.

Great to hear it ran AND you caught it on video.

(I'm a little disappointed to hear about the lack of smoke, as it would have made the video more entertaining. But I guess it's a good thing engine-wise.)

Exciting like the time when J.R. got his TR3A out in the spring a year or two ago for the summer after winter storage.

Looks like either:

. Blew the head gasket
. Elected a new Pope

Wasn't that the time when the squirrels had been storing nuts in his exhaust pipe? A wonderful picture that captures the essence of British Motoring!

Ah...brings back memories of my long-gone Mk3 Spitfire, which used to smoke like that almost all the time near the end of its career. Unfortunately, the smoke was blue, and my gas mileage was only marginally better than my "oil mileage"! :nopity:

Both good ones, but AltaKnight got it right!

I am a newbie when it comes to Triumphs.... Almost bought a tr6 or 7 when I was about 20 but the inner fender wells were gone and it had a blown motor. I have been restoring cars for about 35+ years and come from a long family history of hot rodders. We are taking the motor out of the 3 tomorrow. Lots of slow progress on this one. Thanks again for the help.
