TR2/3/3A 56 TR3 Cooling System

Couple of quick questions. The replacement water pipe I bought has a bend in it (believe the original was straight). Assume the pipe is fitted with the "long" end of the pipe at the top. Is this correct? Second, I've always just cleaned pipes and attached hoses with clamps. Anyone using any sealants on joints? Thanks for your help and input. Cheers, Mike

Long end to the top (as you say) is how I have fitted mine.

I use some Blue Hylomar on the hose connections, but then I'm using the wire clamps and they can use a little help. In particular the connection of the bypass hose to the thermostat housing might want some of that sticky non-hardening seal like Hylomar as there is no lip on the casting (in fact it is almost tapered).
