This is the beginning of searching out information and resources for NEXT winters project:
I have known about and largely tried to ignore a hairline crack at the upper crotch of the "two meet the other two" point above the final flange point of my manifold.
As the exhaust heats up the crack seals up due to material expansion. So far so good but this won't last forever I know.
Do I have any chance at all of finding a replacement cast manifold that is intact?
I have a neighbor (welder) who has explained the possible repair process of heating the whole assembly up, welding and slow cooling as well as the risk of distortion and the probability or possibility of having a tough time refitting the repaired part.
Is my best option just to scrap the ideas of repair or replacement with an original cast manifold?
