3.9 diff and pinion seal

So, now that I've acquired a 3.9 diff, I'm half hoping to not have to deal with that high-torque nut.
My question is: if there is no trace of oil at the front of the diff, should I still replace the seal? I'll obviously replace the gasket to the diff housing. I'll also replace easy stuff like the seals at the axles when they're out.

If it doesn't leak, I would leave it alone. It's something that can be changed with the diff in the car, so only the removal of the driveshaft would be necessary if you need to do it in the future.

Thanks Gerard. Thought I could do it later (in the car - though a tiny bit more difficult). I think I'll let it stay for now.
