Not sure what is going on here.Idle is okay, car drives okay until I take it out of gear sitting at the lights or stop sign. Then without using the accelerator, the engine revs start to climb. When I put it back in gearand drive off, everything seems okay.Give me a clue or two on what I'm missing.

Stuart.

How is your accelerator return spring? is it returning all the way?

Sounds like a vacuum leak. Possible carb shaft wear or even HIF shaft seals shot if you have HIF carbs. Without physically checking, it's all a guess. PJ
