TR6 1973 TR6 flasher question

Having a heck of a time trying to figure out this issue. If you read my previous post about wiring I just cannot figure this out. I bought a new hazard flasher unit. I did not hook up the connections to the unit the wires were just hanging there yet for some reason I tried the flashers and they work? I have look at the wiring diagram hard to follow since some of the wires are not the correct wire color. Getting nervous no fires please. Any Help?

Not sure there is much we can do to help. Someone has obviously made some "improvements" and you're probably going to have to either work out what they are, or figure out how to remove them.

But just to double-check, you mean that the hazard (aka 4-way) flashers work without the flasher module connected, right? Do they work with the key off? Do the regular turn signals work as they should (with the hazard switch off of course) ?

Yes the flasher does work without the module when the key is off and when the key is on.The turn signals work perfectly as do all the other lights (headlights, brake lights, reverse lights) when the key is on, but the headlights will stay on even the key is off. Thanks for any input

Can you hear what is clicking when you run the hazard flashers?
The original wiring to the hazard switch is rather odd, and keeps the turn signals from working if there is a problem with the hazard switch. But if the turn signals don't work with the key off and the hazards do, then I think there is likely to be another flasher unit somewhere. The turn flasher normally only gets power when the key is on.

Randall is right, there are two different flashers one for each system, so all sounds well. There is one flasher on the left hand front inner finder and the other is under the dash near the Tachometer.

Wayne the "one" by the tachometer is a voltage stabilizer. The flasher for the turn signals on the TR6 is located on the passenger side footwell, attached on the right side kick panel.

Thanks for the correction, been a while since I had to mess with a "6". Better knock on wood, mine will get me back.
