Spitfire 1965 Spitfire Mk2 - Colorado

Yeah, that caught my eye, too. Something about the early Spitfires with knockoff wire wheels....

It's not quite the pristine original (no letters across the front of the bonnet, and outside paint seems much darker than that on the bulkhead and in the trunk), but it does look to be a very well-maintained, mostly original car!

If it had a red interior, it would be PERFECT! :driving:

 Sorry. The TR3 will go back to a red interior some day. But the Spit is definitely staying black.

My son and I had ours out for a short drive. Got back to the house and tightened up that gas tank sending unit with a slight leak.

Glad to got it! My to do list is shrinking so I will be able to get to those seals this weekend and click some new pics!

Work on the Spit has slowed, but the new bumper and grab handle are on. Too much yard work and long hours at the office are cutting into my garage time.

I will get some updates posted soon.

I have been busy too!
Driving and enjoying

But I don"t think my wife like the car!

Where did you end up getting your bumper from?

I just want to know why your guys cars look so much nicer then mine. Keep up the great work.

Hey Tom,
Your links are dead on you web site. Wanted to see the new GT6! I have that carb, just need to Get to the Post Office! I would kill to have the paint job you have on your Spit.

I dont know three red Spits, The three Amigo's. I might have to tweak the motor a little and try for a cross country trip this summer.

Great looking car! Like the Fiat-fire effect there, too.

I ended up getting a bumper from Spitbits. I need some overriders without a hole drilled through the front now.

I have held off shipping the old bumber back as a core. I am hoping to find someone who can straighten it, and maybe help out another Spit owner on here.

I also need to part with my roll bar. I don't plan to use it, so that could help somebody on here as well.

The new GT6 pages are not done yet. My son was going to update them. If you saw other links that were broken let me know.

As for the paint job on my spit it looks ok from a mile away or by photo but it really needs some help. The car that really has a nice paint job is the 70 GT6 but I don't have any pictures of it yet to post. The other issue is that it is starting to rust out in all the normal spots. The 3 years in storage didn't do it any good.

As you can see the front bumper on the spit is also really shot. It has been bent to many times. I need to find one in better shape some day.

KSIS if you come out this way I would be happy to put you up for the night at my home. It is always nice to find other triumph fans.
