I have a 1098 that has some issues. One cylinder has rust in it. I was able to tear the motor down except the one piston. I have an idea to get it out. I also found the motor was over heated at some point in its life by the four corner seize marks on the one piston and the bearings don't look very well.

My question is can a 1098 motor be bored out to a 1200 size? I don't think the one cylinder will clean up even up to 40 over. I'm just curious.
 
1098's are a dime a dozen. I have a 10CC and a 10CG you can have for the hauling. I'd replace with a 1275 or a very cheap 10CC.

Well, come to find out after getting the piston out, the cylinder would have cleaned up nicely. I stress would have. I found a 4 inch crack down the cylinder wall. This block is officially a boat anchor.
