Geo's got the right combo! My '91 Westfalia has 254,000 miles on it and keeps going and going. It's had a few problems along the way but so far I think it has been my lowest problems per mile car. I'll keep it 'til there's nothing left to keep! My TR6 has about 67K on it, of which about 25k are mine. No world records there.

Don, I was surprised when I read that. I have the original warranty when my '59 TR3 was sold, Dec 26, 1959, from Brucks Oldsmobile and Imports, and it sports a 3 year/36,000 warranty.....
 
Not an LBC, but my 1984 Datsun 300ZX had a little over 246,000 miles on it when I parked it a couple of years ago. Bought it new, changed the oil once in a while and drove it everywhere.
 
100,000; just got it broke in then; time to change the oil I'd say!
 
My '98 Jeep Grand Cherokee just flipped over to 150K miles last week. I've replaced tires and a serpentine belt. This is my fifth jeep in about 15 years. Probably won't buy another one. Resale has never been great. Just to many of them out there.
 
My 89 Porsche has 151,000 on it and doesn't use a drop of oil. I bought it 12 years ago with 55k.
No way of knowing how many miles are on the TR3, I know it was rebuilt with whatever was around. It has a TR4 block, a TR3 gearbox and an early TR2 or 3 rear axel with 10" brakes.

Don, that's very interesting. Was that typical of all new cars in Canada? My 1st new TR a '67 4A came with a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty. But I drove almost 20K the first year.

I would be intersted to know what warranty others got with their new TR's. Please let us know.

Sorry to digress, but my 1977 Toyota Celica
with a 20R four cylinder engine delivered into the...
well, let's see... bought it with just over 100,000
miles from a previous owner.

Turned the odometer over twice while I owned it.
So, if you do the math, I know it sounds incredible.
Same engine. Same transmisssion.

I totaled out my '76 Celica (all body repairs), then
bought the used '77 figuring the engine would die and
I'd switch over from the '76 cause the miles on it were
way low.

Drove that '77 very, very hard. Tried to destroy the
engine, almost for kicks. That car just took it and
never stopped.

Finally sold the old parts car ('76) to the tow truck
driver for $50 to get it out of my side yard for
landscaping purposes.

Hard to believe, but true. That '77 Celica still sits
in my back yard where I drove it and shut it off.
Every time I walk by it, I tip my hat in salute.

I bought a new '69 TR6, and it came with a 1 year/12,000 mile warranty.
 
At least 1/2 life and it still looks shiny and "current". I got 320k on my '94 burb and it still would go 3.5k without adding oil. It did take 3 transmission and 2 additional A/C compressors and 3 alternators. Hope my Dura Max will do as well.
