When I acquired my 1966 TR4A it had a large hole cut out in the firewall / passenger footwell area (picture attached).
It has four small holes around the outside of it like something was attached here at one time.
Does anyone have any idea what might have gone here?

Now is the best part of the restoration— putting it all together!
I’m installing the wing splash guards. Any idea of the purpose of the four captive nuts on the pax side footwell? I don’t recall anything coming off, and my pre-disassembly photos don’t reveal it. And curiously, they do appear...
