I never had any problems tuning tri-carb Healeys either, and usually, the only time anybody ever brought them back, was after the owner
made them better!
Funny, but I had just gotten done telling my wife a story about people who "see" with their fingertips__they have to go and touch everything! The point of the story I was making was about a galley-hand on an offshore drilling rig who had just stepped off the helicopter and seemingly immediately "touched" the E.S.D. button, while mouthing the words
what's this for?
It's the acronym for
Emergency Shut Down...
He was put on the next chopper going North (back to the US mainland from the Gulf of Mexico)!
Then there was Van Auld, questionable CPA in Lafayette, Louisiana; first time I met him and upon opening the hood of the Healey, he says "Oooh, headers!" Yep, burnt the tip of his finger,
looking at the headers! I stifled my laughter, having just stumbled upon an MG Club Meet at the OIl Center Travel Lodge and pulled into the lot
They walk among us Derek. so be careful out there!!
