That's what she said

I didn't just say that out loud did I?

I think any photo of yourself in a F-16 would be pretty awesome. The missile just makes it that much better.

You know, that guy does look familiar!

WOOHOO!!! "FOX 2!"

Great timing if that's not a screen capture from a video. But what're the chances?

Yup. Mine too.

All the selfies I'd shoot were either sent off to DoD with the rest of the roll or too blurred/ill-framed/bland for use. The best ones I've seen were done by Herm Kokojan. He was a pal and co-worker back-when, he got one of his on the cover of Aviation Week. ISTR it was in an F-15. After he retired from the USAF, he went to work for Black Star. We used to joke over beer in the NCO club about alternating "Military Photographer of the Year" honors in the coming years... But I decided to leave the AF and hunt my Pulitzer as a civilian. Gave that up with the end of marriage to The First Wife. Herm took the honors for at least three years in a row. Just an all-around great guy.

EDIT: If you want to see some stellar military photojournalism, Google him (Herman Kokojan)!

Is that the Stig?

GoPro would be my guess.

Yes it's a frame form a video.

The pilot is Capt. Thomas Kristensen of Royal Danish Air Force.

Probably right about the GoPro, too. Here's another vid from the RDAF (don't know if it's also Capt. K), note the GoPro over the shoulder.

Is that the Stig?

Aha! Maybe that's why we never hear the Stig talk, it would reveal his Danish accent!

Not a bad shot. You can see the GoPro in the reflection in his helmet along with the tip of the missile on the other side. That being said however, I'm contractually obligated to say Viper's suck.

umm... JP-4/JP-8 by th' pound? :jester:

Not exactly a selfie, but here's me with my wingman and combat 'stache' after my 100th combat sortie Christmas Day.20131225_055354.jpg

GREAT stuff, dwalpole!! Thanks for the photo AND for your service. Couldn't be sure what aircraft was at the end if the string in your avatar, sorta obvious now though. Awesome weapon, awesome platform.

You on the left or right? Bit of the Robin Olds tradition goin' on there. G-suit hasn't changed much from the looks of it, but we flew with snubby .38's, not Berettas.

One of the jobs I did was to photograph the first multi-round firing of the GAU-8A. Burlington, VT around '72. They had a fifty-five gallon drum to use as brass recovery, they'd mounted the weapon using angle-iron frame anchored into concrete ...ummm... inadequately. Suffice it to say it didn't quite go as planned.
