All you in the Northeast

Apparently a "Polar Vortex" is whats to blame. A semi-permanent counterclockwise-rotating pool of cold dense air that ought to occur at the North Pole.
3 here headed for -20 tomorrow morning about the time I wisely made an appointment to have my wife's car serviced.

Just had lunch on the back porch

Try having lunch on the porch on Tuesday :snowman:

Yup. We're gonna see below freezing temps by Tuesday here. That plays Hades with the farms. Millions in lost crop sales. Price of strawberries will be up.

When I was a freshman at UT, we used to light smudge pots for spending (errr beer) money.
Stay warm doc.

Didn't need to remind me ,Elliot

Just to make you feel better, the high here on Tuesday is expected to be 9 or 10 deg. F

It was around 60 here today.
The battery in the Cortina wagon was almost dead,
so i went for plan "B",& drove the GT.

You guys do make me feel bad. I left the upper 48 to get away from weather like that and to hear your suffering makes me feel like I ran out on it all. But...ya gotta do whatcha gotta do...

Well it's 6 degrees here now in Eastern Ok. Snowed all day yesterday with 30 mph NW winds. The snow was falling perfectly horizontal, don't know how any of it hit the ground, shoulda missed us and all went to Arkansas instead! THEN, Busted Knuckles has to show his weather! Should be a law against it!!! :livid:  PJ

Obviously I'm not far enuff south yet!

It was 45F last night when I got home from town. 47F when I went to bed. Saw 23 as I left home and is currently 22F... My employers have temporarily cancelled doing year end inventory because the warehouses will be too cold to not have gloves on.

Weird. The other day it was -8f here with 9 inches of snow on the ground, today I'm looking at grass and 55 degrees.

I was driving home Friday night and watched my thermometer in the car bottom out at 3 degrees. By the time I got home, though, it had gone up to 6 degrees. It really didn't feel twice as warm, though.

Looks like the only place in CONUS east of the Mississippi not going below freezing overnight will be Miami. Predicted low of 47°F there. Brutal on those not used to it.

(EDIT) Don't think he needs that Elliot
Remember the complete bath redo he did.
All that was so that he could install an outlet behind the lo so that he could install a heated seat.
A lot of work for a warm bun

And worth every bit of it!
