All you in the Northeast

It's really horrible & cold here...barely 27 deg C. Or 80-81 in that old funny money...

Ok Who let this guy in? Basil, aren't you always bragging about what a good job you do of screening undesireables? mind you if they let in Canadians.... Um never mind.

Welcome though. I do have to point out that I have a colleague who lives in the mountains in the interior of British Columbia who travelled to New Zealand in winter and said he could never get warm. Even with all his Canadian winter garb said the dampness got in his bones.

JP - good on you for doing that.

(But who schedules outdoors youth camping for January in your neck o' the woods ...???)

crazy people really crazy people. Oh and for the record it was cabins not camping but still cold.

It ain't easy bein' GREEN.
OK, this has got to stop.... I say we find this guy and tie him to a pole in a Walmart parking lot in Kennebunkport, ME this week!

Western Pa was 4F this morning. Starting the Buick was a bit worrisome.

"CLUNK! Grrrrrrrrr roooow roooow rooow row Row ROW! Vrooooo.... put put put sputter cough... thud... thud... ---silence---... CLUNK! Grrr row row row row ROW! ROW! vrooooOOOOOOOOOOmmm putter putter putter roooOOOOOOm"....

Cross fingers and try to pull out of the drive.

Who misses sunny and 75? (except Doc):encouragement:

What? Lech Walesa is in Maine?

(gotta gloat ... it's 2F outside. Just went to start my ol' Mercedes. Full choke, cranked slowly for about three seconds, fired, and now idling smoothly w/o choke.)

Sigh-not made of stern enough stuff obviously... In fairness, kiwis never really understood the concept of insulation or central heating. And those funny brick creations other people build fall over in earthquakes :(

I suspect even he would be ok over here at this time of year though

I can certainly attest to the beauty of NZ. Here are some photo's (with the help of my favorite kiwi ) from my recent visit there....

sorry you can have it all! Was just chaperoning a youth retreat (which I am waay to old for BTW) .

Made that mistake a few years ago. Other guy (300 pounds) drug his bed in front of the door so the kids don't sneak out.... then the boys decided to have a farting competition...in a room that the windows can't be opened...

...I went home shortly after the first volley....
