TR6 Is This a Fair Price for TR-6?

I may be wrong, but based on the pics, I think it likely was resprayed, the paint just looks awful shiny with [no] discernible scratches, dents etc...

I don't think you can really tell in photos -- just because a car looks shiny doesn't mean the paint can't be 40 (or 50) years old.

Joe,

i think you are right on in your cost assessment. It may be $1-$3K high, but if this is the kind of car (well cared for original, straight, clean, in red) that I was looking for, i'd pay the premium. I would also be on a plane to see the car. Chances are you coukd negotiate some, at least to cover the trip.

i like rebuilding them, so I opted for a $5k project, but it doesn't take much to get you up to $12K, especially with body and paint.

I have been in contact with the seller and may go see the car if it does not sell in the auction. Thanks again to everyone for your input.

I have a yellow 74 TR6 I'm thinking of selling. Fuel injection, A/C, Superlite wheels and 28% O/D unit, plus lots of other upgrades. $10500 for it. PM for pictures.

Contact me if you're interested - I have a '74-1/2 TR6 that I might sell for less than $9,000.
