Any B-25 fans?

I remember building a model of a B-25 Mitchell as a youth in the 80's. I opted for the H variant with 6 nose mounted .50 cals (instead of 4 .50's and a 75mm in the nose), and 4 "cheek blister" mounted .50 cals. I remember thinking it was the most epic bomber of that era. Sure the B-17 was a beast, but the B-25 was a monster of an aircraft that could fulfill CAS missions like no other (until the A-10 came along).

It looks like it was a joy-ride of a life time. I would go in a heart beat if given a chance.
 
Always thought the B-25 was a nice looking airplane. I read the book "30 Seconds Over Tokyo" when I was a kid, still have that copy around somewhere.

Um... I am old enough to have kids almost going into high school and I wasn't really old enough to be politically aware of Watergate when it occurred.

For "today's" youth Watergate, Vietnam... are approximately 40 years ago, about the same as WWII was when I was growing up.

Yeah, you sort of caught me - current events "government wise." might take this conversation outside the realm of board appropriate.

To put it another way, I read this recently.

Builder generation lived through the war and the depression - learned banks were not to be trusted but government was.
Boomer generation lived through Watergate and a huge run of prosperity - learned government was not to be trusted and banks were.
Baby busters and beyond have lived through the recent financial meltdown as well as witnessed government mayhem - and have learned neither is to be trusted.

(I hope this doesn't cross the line - if so boss, sorry)
