Looks like it needs an additional socket
Never seen any but a lathe could easily shorten one, or a grinder, but that would probably take a looong time. Thanks for responding. This is even more of a puzzle? Where can you buy a 1/2" drive socket that needs to be 3/4" long in order to adjust the valves on a TR3???
Exactly. That's the way i I normally adjust the valves. I remember buying this tool off ebay years ago. Now that it turned up I thought I would try it out. I dont know if there actually is a 3/8 drive socket with a 1/2" opening where the socket is 3/4" long ???? Most of my sockets are 1@1/2" in length. You would need a socket that is...... 3/4"in length.... in order for the socket opening to fit over the adjustment nut? I don't think there is such a socket. Strange.Interesting tool but I think a box end wrench ,screwdriver and checking with feeler is easier.

Seems odd that they made a tool that there is no proper socket for LBC's???Never seen any but a lathe could easily shorten one, or a grinder, but that would probably take a looong time.
'cuz the world does revolve around us.Seems odd that they made a tool that there is no proper socket for LBC's???
I think the tool was made in England??'cuz the world does revolve around us.![]()
I also have a similar tool for adjusting the valve clearance. For me, it’s easier to use a screwdriver and wrench.I think the tool was made in England??
Did you ever try using this tool? If so what socket did you use? Like you I just use a wrench and screwdriver but the inability to find an appropriate socket is what baffles me?I also have a similar tool for adjusting the valve clearance. For me, it’s easier to use a screwdriver and wrench.
By the way, the one I have was made in the USA.

I haven’t used it in years but I think I used a 1/2” (3/8” drive) regular socket.Did you ever try using this tool? If so what socket did you use? Like you I just use a wrench and screwdriver but the inability to find an appropriate socket is what baffles me?
