Thought of the day - food related

This is sort of food related:

Roomba beats me to Cheeto.jpg

Where is JP, he'll want some.
I have to say that there are number of things that I wished would cross the border. BBQ is getting better in Canada. It is very hard to find good Mexican even in Toronto. That said it is difficult for me to adequately put into words how gross peeps are and how grateful I am that you can't get them here. (grits too - runas and hides)

That said, turnabout is fair play - Poutine is also gross.

I was with you on the barbecue and Mexican (that they are great - I can’t speak to the Toronto restaurant scene).

I was with you on the peeps.

Then you knock Poutine…

I am no longer your friend. 😝

The further the restaurant is from Mexico, the worse it is.

After a trip to Vancouver and Vancouver Island I declare I’m a fan of poutine and chips or is that fries ?!
Poutine: the name is inclusive of the fries. IE you would only order poutine and never poutine and fries.

Depends, the influence of Tex-Mex has really hurt the quality of Mexican food in many parts of Texas and Oklahoma. White people like it, and many restaurants have started catering to those tastes. There is a really good carniceria near me that makes proper Mexican food, but probably the best I have had in awhile was at a Mexican grocery in Cortes, Colorado a few years ago. Good enough that I stopped again last summer when I was passing through.
