I probably didn’t really need them since I poured leveling concrete beforehand but since I had a bunch left over from the shower tiling I figured it wouldn’t hurt.
By the way, to remove them you simply smack them with a rubber mallet and they break off leaving just a flat base piece under the tile.

FINALLY! The floor is completed and grouted! It's not perfect, but overall I am pretty happy with how it came out.
I have the toilet back on the floor (recall it had been sitting on a piece of plywood on top of the tub so I could tile the floor) and the shower is now usable again, but I'm waiting to install an electrical outlet for a bidet before I re-install the toilet. I also finally brought in the vanity that had been sitting in the garage for months. In this (grainy) picture the vanity is about 3 feet out from the wall due to plumbing misalignment. I still need to re-do the plumbing to accommodate the new vanity.
That cabinet on the left is actually an old southwest style stereo cabinet that we bought at a flea market and converted to a cabinet with shelves in order to store towels and toiletries, etc.
Tomorrow (Saturday 24th May) the stone cutter guy is coming out to fit the countertop on the vanity and install two Kohler vessel sinks. Still a ways to go but at least now there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Not sliding doors (had them and didn’t like them). But down the road, have considered replacing with a glass partition door. Something like this;

Perfect! Speaking of the project, I had to go down to the stone place and pick our a different counter top slab because they had a hard rain and all the tags got washed off the slabs they had in the yard, including the one on my piece. I ended up picking a completely different slab of quartzite with lots of greens in it that will match the green (teal) of my sinks. They will be installing the countertop and my sinks on June 3rd.
Also, I got a quote for replumbing the drains for the new vanity - $600! So, I have decided to give it a go myself. Doesn't look like a terribly difficult job, but I'll wait until I have the sinks with the down-pipes installed so I can more accurately determine where I need to position new sanitary Tees.
Here's the slab from which my counter top will be cut. That wooden frame is the template they made after measuring my vanity. (Inserted is a picture of the sink (2) I'll be installing. It's a Kohler Vox 22" vessel sink. (except my sinks are 3-hole, not one like this picture)

Tuesday, June 3rd. Another major piece of the project done! Today they installed the stone counter top on the vanity and cut out the holes for my sinks. I still have to re-do the plumbing for these vanities and hook it all up, then have some electrical stuff to do, but there's light at the end of the tunnel.
About the countertop stone, I had originally picked out a rather plain slab that I thought would not overwhelm the rest of the bathroom, especially the shower, which I want to be the main attraction. However, they called me recently to inform me that they had misplaced the original slab so that I had to go back down to their yard and pick a different piece. This time I decided to throw caution to the wind and picked a slab that has a lot more color, including greens that really go well (I think) with my teal sinks. In the end, I am very happy they misplaced the original slab because I'm very happy with how this came out, and more importantly, SWMBO is happy!

Speaking of the bathroom remodeling, I have been giving serious consideration to installing a Bidet and have been looking at the Toto S7 or S7a or possibly the Nova Ultra. The funny thing about today's array of bidets is that many of them come with remote controls that rival the complexity of a Smart TV.
