TR2/3/3A fuel pump to cab fuel line size

If the original designer called for 3/16" line, that is what should likely be there. Consider the volume vs. Pressure of the fuel in that line. Also consider how long that fuel is going to sit in the(3/16") or 1/4" fuel line while positioned above and around the hot running engine.
Go ahead and try it and then let us all know how it worked for you.

In an older post Hamish mentioned that he ran a rubber(maybe braided as well?) fuel line from the pump up along the firewall that sits in front of the battery to the rear carb. He just had to switch the front float bowl cover to the rear carb. No concerns about vapour lock I would assume with this set up. I have an electric fuel pump(filter before the pump) located closer to the fuel tank. I think I am going to run the rubber hose using his route when I find out what type of line he used.....and I will go with 3/16th". Copper line does not work well with gasoline correct? Karl

I have been using copper-nickel line for the 3/16" fuel line now for over 10 years. I have also replaced the 1/4" line on my TR3A with copper-nickel. That is copper-nickel line as opposed to just copper line.

The flow rate is so low that I don't think it matters. The problem will be at the ends, where you need to adapt the 3/16" line to fittings designed for 1/4". Simplest thing is just to use the 1/4" line.

Clarification on my part. I use 3/16" line from the pump to the carbs. And 1/4" line from tank to pump. So when the question was ask about using about using 1/4" instead of 3/16" , my assumption was Karl was referring to the pump to carbs line. My initial response was about the pump to carbs line. But I have now used the copper-nickel 1/4" line on the TR3A from the tank to the pump.
