Or perhaps a new thread is in order: Bad Puns.Only if we're fully groan.
I’m totally with you on the DVD service. Massive bummer, because it was almost the only way to get obscure movies.
The problem with streaming services, is that none of them have “all” the movies. For example, I am a huge fan of The Simpsons (don’t hate me), but this means I have to get Disney+. I’m too cheap to do that; life goes on without the Simpsons
As a family, we will probably end up subscribing to one streaming service for a few months, and then switching. We left cable for Netflix a few decades ago because of the high bill / countless useless channels. I have no desire to go back!
Are you making that a resolution? Are you guys gonna make me move this to groaners?![]()
When I visit my sister I get to see what she has on all her streaming services. With so many reasonably pr iced streaming services here in the UK DVD's have taken a back seat.
The local charity shops have 100's os DVD'sthat people have donated selling for £1:00 each, and music CD's 4 for a £1:00
I know they are not the latest but i have found some great older movies and music from my era that probably
wont get shown on the steaming sites.
Not worth having a recorder here, if you miss something today it will be on a different chanel some other night or repeted on the same chanel a couple of nights later,When I visit my sister I get to see what she has on all her streaming services.
Nothing there to interest me AT ALL.
I trimmed my program guide down to about 50 channels that might have something of interest.
Most of the time I scan it to 5 or 10 days ahead and can't find anything worth watching.
I refuse to watch ANYTHING live. Not worth having a recorder here, if you miss something today it will be on a different chanel some other night or repeted on the same chanel a couple of nights later,
You're preaching to the choir my friend.I think the major part of what I'm learning, is that the worthwhile things (to me at least) are decreasing, and corporate profits are increasing. And seems to apply to digital experiences in spades.
Think of all the online entertainment being pushed now - and none of it do we really need. Heaven forbid we get bored!
harumph
Ha!!! WonderfulGolly - maybe with the writer's strike starting, we could all actually spend leisure time with something called a "book"!
