It was "gifted" to Herself by her parents. She could drive that thing for months with no issue but all I had to do was sit in it and ~something~ would fail. First time I drove it the cam belt snapped, had THREE brake master cylinders fail, heater valve catastrophically disintegrated, headliner fell on my head while doing 70MPH on an Interstate... It hated me and the feeling was mutual. You admit you had one?![]()
If it's what I think it is, it's not German (may have been raced by Germans, but the car wasn't German, if it's what I think it is).
My first "New" car I ever bought. Mine was 1974, just like this one (but my vinyl top was black). It was actually a pretty great little car. Dependable, good gas milage, and fun to drive.
I think you're right. I thought it was something else made by Ecurie Ecosse, but I think you're right (By the way, the file name when you hover over the image you uploaded gives it away).I cheated by asking Google...so I won't tell but it's pretty neat.View attachment 86309
Your taste in cars could only improve from there (as indeed it has)My first *new* car - as a first year teacher in Texas, it cost me a pretty penny. All of $1700!

Dealer installed a below-dash a/c. Driving out of the dealer lot, I hit a pot hole. The a/c unit fell out and onto the floor. But it was still putting out good cold air, so I left it that way for a few days.
It's not what I thought it was - but looks VERY similar to a car once driven by Jackie Stewart. If it's what I think it is, it's not German (may have been raced by Germans, but the car wasn't German, if it's what I think it is).![]()
