TR2/3/3A Can anyone confirm that if you replace the ammeter with a voltmeter ( generator removed and alternator added) that you......

I believe you could put both ammeter terminals on one side of the vm and ground on the other .

I never tried that. It was recommended that I run a white wire from the ignition key to the voltmeter gauge and the other side to ground.
 
With any of the brown wiring the 12V is not switched. A minimal draw from the volt meter would result. The white wiring is switched.
