When I see numbers like this, it makes me wonder - how many NEW toilets are needed every year? What has happened to the existing toilets? Is there that much new construction going on? Are people really, really hard on toilets? Enquiring minds want to know! The world’s largest plumbing manufacturer. 5.2 BILLION in sales.
In our case it was just a matter of the toilets we had were getting long in the tooth (20+ years old)! Our old toilets were constantly needing to be fiddled with and they also used a lot of water when flushing. This Toto Drake only uses 1.28 gals (compared to over 4 gal) per flush. I suspect these new toilets will pay for themselves with washer savings in just a few years. When I see numbers like this, it makes me wonder - how many NEW toilets are needed every year? Think globally... I bet many underdeveloped countries are still playing catch-up with sanitation products. When I see numbers like this, it makes me wonder - how many NEW toilets are needed every year? Enquiring minds want to know!I have designed and the company I worked for manufactured boxes for Elkay Mfg. Elkay makes sinks. Many different styles and sizes of sinks. And similar to Toto, the numbers are astounding. And again - how many NEW sinks are needed every year, etc., etc.
Not to mention there is a continuous stream of people with older homes doing remodels. Wasn't too many years ago we did a total remodel of our kitchen, which of course included a new sink.Think globally... I bet many underdeveloped countries are still playing catch-up with sanitation products.
Geez, this thread is really going to pot!without getting political (please)

and note that the article is seven years old - yes there is the issue of entire Chinese communities sitting vacant but, just there, that's a lot of toilets! (and also a sand shortage which boggles my mind)
Don't you mean "potty"Geez, this thread is really going to pot!![]()
Not me... the seat is up.And we're all sitting down when watching/replying....
