Sunset at Cabazon Peak
Cabazon-.jpg

Sunset on the Nile (taken in late February) nearing Abu Simbel. Waited for the green flash, but there was none.

... but it wasn't all fun. While driving from Amman (Jordan) down to Petra (east of the Dead Sea), we were caught in a nasty sandstorm (for maybe 50 miles). Accidents everywhere, and locals said it was the worst they had seen. The stuff was more like brown flour and visibility, at one point, dropped to about 30 feet... with very high wind gusts. It was starting to end in this shot. Early March of this year.

Hi Basil, great photo!! In posting my South Padre Island sunrise photo I managed to overlook the date until too late! Year should be 2022! We ventured across the border from Canada for the first time in over 2 1/2 years! Border people were fine. SPI was awesome. Anyway can you correct the date-mistake? Regards, David. Nelson, BC

Last evening here - looking SW, the line of clouds may have been caused by Hurricane Ian's movement nearby. Picture doesn't show it well, but everything had a golden yellow cast - really quite remarkable.
