Engine Pulling

You can remove the engine with tranny attached or separately.
Remove the valve cover and use the two bolts that hold the cover on.

LOL, John you posted while I was typing.

Esp. if you pull engine and gearbox together, be sure not to bash the throttle cross shaft (firewall at top front of the gearbox tunnel). With the engine out, make sure the shaft is straight and the shaft bushings have no slop (they probably will). Replacement nylon bushings, designed by a top-notch Healey mechanic, are the way to go.

Good point Bob. Getting access to those bushing with the engine in place, as they say in New York, forgettttabouuutit. Seriously, replace the bushing with the Teflon ones. (For reference Moss 021-822 021-822_980-310_INST.pdf) And while you're at it, replace the bushing that the accelerator pedal and bush cup have. I believe all 4 bushings are the same.

Multiple R&R's of my race engine over the last 15 years. Always done with trans in place.

Thanks much for the good advice on pulling engine & gearbox on my 67 3000. I was reluctant to assume the two bolts that protrude up through rocker cover was enough. Plus, saw many Utube V where individuals bolted to sides including intake M and also Generator bracket. My bracket had been welded (must have broke before).
all went smoothly and yes I used a leveler.
also thanks for advice on replacement bushings.
