bugeye front tilt hood fastener -- choices

I need fasteners for my front tilt bonnet. I am considering getting one of the choices in the links below. It looks to me like the first one (the all metal one) is NOT spring loaded, and the knurled bottom suggests that you have to loosen and tighten it each time. Does anyone have any experience with either of these two fasteners?

Those look like the same style as used on Jeep CJs and YJs. Popular period styles include leather straps on each side and you can always install Spitfire latches which look really good. Google ‘Spring loaded hood latch’ and select images and you’ll see a bunch of them.

I’ve got a set of the Spitfire bonnet locks and I’m trying to figure out how to mount them inside the footwell so they won’t show. Once my shop is finished I’ll have a place and hopefully the time to work on this project.

I have a set of aero catch can’t comment on them there in the package and will be till maybe oct nov..?

I welded hidden fasteners inside the wheel wells.

Drilled the hole on the tub first, then tack the Dzus fastener plate to the bonnet.
