This Irma monster is scraping whole islands clean. We've managed Andrew's wrath, the trifecta of 12 years ago, now the Category 5 will test us. The home improvement stores are running out of plywood, water is FLYING off store shelves, every loaf of bread has likely been bought... and Mitsy is going to be driving back from Miami this afternoon. Hoooboi.

Take a trip back to PA doc... and ride out Irma here.
You have a place to stay and the beer is cold.
Please stay safe.

Yuengling!

Seriously, wishing you, your family and your property all the best.

Stay safe!
Someone posted a picture of a grocery store,
presumably in Texas,& all the soy & tofu products
were untouched,& the rest of the shelves were bare.

Saw that, Doug. Not too many vegans in Houston, apparently. Even in a disaster.

We're not in a primary flood zone, we've got about three feet above sea level here. :smirk:
It'll be the dam wind. Trees cover our little pitch, old oaks. Had one come down in Charlie's passthrough, nothing hit but my Alfa GT. This could be far worse.
We'll hunker down.

Wanna guess where BCF servers reside?

I've got family on both the Gulf and Atlantic coasts. I hope they retreat to safety. Whatever you decide to do, know that we will be thinking about you and wishing you well.

Husband Douglas flew in yesterday to West Palm Beach and was met by my daughter Amy where they traveled to her home in Okeechobee. He will be with her through this hurricane. She has animals that of course she won't leave. Amy is still fragile having lost her husband a year ago. Praying for her and all my Florida friends, some very close indeed. No magic words. Prayers however can be very powerful.

Prayer is indeed powerful - and, Florida friends. please keep safe!

Getting out of Dodge on Sat
Question is
Ody or Z4

Both

Might not be leaving at all now.
Won't know until late tonight

Stay safe Doc! I think it is safe to say we are all thinking about y'all right now.

Judy, I hope that Douglas and Amy ride this out safely.

"Wanna guess where BCF servers reside?"

Bas, the BCF is too important to have the servers kept in a place where they can potentially be damaged. You should think about moving them to a more secure area, I understand that there is a large underground bunker near the Springs in CO that might be secure enough.

Son and wife heading for Nashville. Nearest place they could get reservations. Alfa and Mazda 6 in garages. They took his BMW X5 diesel. Had trouble getting fuel in FL. Dropped the cat off in Georgia at a kennel. He's a bad traveler. I-75 full of Florida cars.

My sister, brother-in-law, 2 of her daughters (third one is in college in New York) and their pet rabbit evacuated Thursday afternoon after putting up the hurricane shutters. They made it to Savannah, Georgia by midnight. Then set out the next day for Maryland. Traffic in the Carolinas was the worst -- finally reaching the DC area around 1 AM in the wee hours of Friday morning. My brother-in-law likened the evacuation to "the closing scene of Fiddler on the Roof" when Tevye and his family have to leave Anatevka. They live in Parkland, and for quite some time, the hurricane track looked like it was going to hit them square. Now that track has moved west a bit, but that means the house is exposed to the dangerous northeast quadrant.

Prayers go out to all the folks in Florida! When this devastation is over, we hope all have made it through safely! Homes can be rebuilt, but life is precious, what ever it takes, STAY SAFE! The Jennings family

My friend flew to Tampa yesterday. His daughter lives there and he didn't want her to be alone.

A friend and former boss just moved to Tampa from NM. Latest path projections show Irma moving a bit further west before heading north, which would not be good news for Tampa.

We're apparently now squarely in her sights. All hatches battened down. Now we wait.

You and Mitsy stay S A F E !
