TR2/3/3A Paint code info

About three years ago I was able to find "a" paint code for the powder blue. I took it in to our local auto paint supplier. He was not able to find such a number in his books. My next option was to take in the trunk lid support ( for the TR4 that I was wanting to paint). I figured that it had virtually no sun exposure or fading and ask him to match that paint. He did and in my opinion it came out great. All said I now have the mixture that he used to prepare the paint. It is not the original number. If you want the formula that I have please just respond.
I will add that I had my car parked near another newly painted powder blue car and that owner claimed it was painted with the original paint code. So it must be available through some dealers. The difference between the cars was fairly great. I would say my car was a lustrous powder blue while his car was such a light blue that I would not have called it powder blue but almost an off white to the blue tint. One other difference between the cars was that my car was painted with one stage acrylic enamel while his was two stage with the clear coat. I do not know how much difference the type of paint made.

Yes I would love to have it and shoot me a picture of your car! I am not going for a concours restoration I am just trying to recreate the way it was when my father in law originally purchased the car.

I have an old TR3 bonnet with original powder blue paint on it. (I've had it for 50 years so I know it's original). A few years ago I had the paint shop scan the under side, which we had buffed out, for a friend who was doing a powder blue car restoration. He decided not to use the code from the scan as he got some numbers from someone else but if it would help, I can have it scanned again. (Be interesting to see how close it comes to the TR4.)

Ok that would be great!

JP, I'll get it to you in a day or two. Tom

The paint I used was Nason Ful-Thane 2K Urethane. Again this is a one stage paint with NO clear coat.
The inside of the label shows:
03 1500
43 1615
02 1680
45 1685
91 4256

I will take it that that is the formula for the paint.
I will try to attach a photo of the car as well. DSCN3395.jpg

Hi.
If you can get the Ditzler or ICI paint code then Tcpglobal.com is the place to go. Takes a while (3-4 weeks) but the match is perfect and the price is low.
Note that the more you get, the cheaper it is. For example 1 gallon costs less than 3 quarts! I wouldn't think that you would need more than 1 quart for the chassis.

Thanks I was trying to see if anyone has the paint information in another manufacture... I guess I will have to try a couple different shades to see what looks good to me?
