Disneyland! And here's the swampland of Disneyworld:
BTW, here's one of my favorite photos of a service station right outside the Disneyland gate:

I always hated the white because to my taste it was like eating a giant lemon. I've never really cared for grapefruit or the juice. As I kid I remember having to line up for the dreaded castor oil followed by a paper cup of grapefruit juice.
Confectioner's sugar?

a shot of castor oil with a grapefruit chaser?.......might catch on at a fern bar today.
we always sprinkled salt on our ruby red grapefruit from the South Tx valley.
my dad even put salt on watermelon for some reason.
I may have asked before, but where in the Valley? My mom lived in Mercedes as a kid, and spent much of her later years in Weslaco.
And pink grapefruit "straight up", naturally from the Valley, is my choice.
OK - I'm one of the Ancients!
This was my absolute favorite ride at Disneyland: Autopia!
If I recall, there was also a "mini-autopia" for kids too short to ride in the "big" cars.
that front autopia racer has a slight resemblance to Judow's "Onslow A Jaguar"
We never actually lived that far south, but
After II Dad went to TA&M on the GI Bill, then joined the Army Corp of Engineers & was in for 16 more years. During that time they/we (I came along in 56) bounced up & down the Tx coast on water treatment engineering projects. I was born in Victoria, we lived in Beeville, Corpus, San Antone, Houston, Galveston as far west as Del Rio & El Paso. Mom finally put her foot down & we moved to Dallas & settled down. ( Dad loved the COE, he was a civil engineer at a time when they were in high demand)
