Creative Spridgets Rear Disc Kit

Anyone who owns a BE installed this rear disc kit. I am converting to Front Discs, have upgraded/rebuilt 3/4" Master, and later rear Backing Plates already. I still need another $156 worth of rear brake hardware parts and pieces that I need to order to complete the transformation. However, I read through this Web Site last night and realized for about $350 more, I can install rear disc brakes in Bugsy.

Imaging - Never having to adjust rear brake shoes.
Never fettling with the E-Brake cable and having an E-Brake that actually works
Never dealing with that ****ed Circlip for the Wheel Cylinders.

All available when you bolt on a set of Rear Calipers with Intergrated E-Brake from a Nissan 200X to your Spridget.

Does not look all hard to do. Minor fabrication is needed and opening up brake rotor so it fits properly with a Dremel Tool looks not all that hard. I've done worse things getting stuff to fit on this car.

So anyone who has been down this road already I want your feedback, especially on a BE as clearance is a bit trickier that on a SWA or RWA Car.

I'm interested in the Technical Challenge and Coolness Factor aside from the advantages I mentioned above. I don't need a forward tilt bonnet or a 5 Speed and a 1275 either but I'm installing on Bugsy IV. Thoughts gents.

Last February I received a set of the adapters for my birthday from my brother. They were the basis for the latest changes on the Bugeye. We always talked about stuff he wanted done and so it started. Living out in the sticks 90% of the stuff for the brakes came off the internet so there was some waiting time. Everything went together real nice. I had the disc's drilled out at a machine shop. Looking back, I think I spent more time on the spacers for the disc's than anything else but I found the thin aluminum (.020) on the net so I made whole face spacers. Other than that just alot of fiddling to get it set up like I wanted.
New brake lines, clutch cylinder and line, aux cooling fan and the cold air intake took up the between time on the brakes.
Still more stuff to get straight in 2017, but now my mentor is gone.

Jim, I helped refine the adapters and made the prototypes. I have all the components to do the swap on my Bugeye, but I have yet to do the swap. If you decide to do the swap let me know and I'll make a set of spacers for you.

Thanks Trevor. That solves one source of problems in doing this the rest appears lots of fettling. I think I really want to do this. Anything that helps to improve braking performance. Still cogitation but I'm pretty sure I want to push ahead in this one and start Sourcing parts and pieces. First I need to tear into the front end and that will start next week. Maybe even tommorow.

Great pictures and looks really like a clean setup. Where in NC do you live?

5 miles east of Aurora, in a shack by the side of the road...

Most people would trade you places to live to be there near the Pamlico Sound and Morehead City! I grew up within an hour of there.

Yeah it is nice. Moved here from three years in the frozen north in 1975. Do not miss the frozen part of that at this age.

Thanks Lee, Bugsy is about to go on jack stands. Unbelievable, 60 degrees a record high today before rain comes and temps bottom out. Snow went North and missed us here. Yeah. Got to get in the garage and do some work while I can. Front end rebuild starts NOW!

72 degrees here this morning. Wanted to go for a drive, but decided to take down the Christmas lights since I could do it while wearing shorts and a t-shirt.

Trevor, I saw 69 in Dayton yesterday. But I did get started taking front Suspension apart. LF Brake is off and bagged. Now working on getting castle nuts off so I can drop the suspension and strip off down to attachment points so I can hang the new wishbone. Can't remove bolt holding shock on. Will turn freely. guessing I need to drop the spring to take the pressure off so I can remove the bolt. Have 2 hours available tonight. Time to put on warm clothing and dive into removing more parts and pieces. New front assemblies just need bolting on. Will need to paint steering rack and removing/loosening TR Ends is probably best done on the car to anchor things.
