Very cool. How much planning did it take to lay out that fixture?

Sway bar arms are done. Getting close to the finish line on the machine work.

I do not envy the guy that gets to weld all those tight corners. I use an oversized diffuser type cup. It allows for the electrode to stick WAY out.

I love to watch quality work like this! Have you thought about posting a video?

We we're going to setup another time lapse, but things got busy. Try to get something setup for next week. The tight corners are a pain. Debating on switching back to MIG.

I'd definitely stay with the TIG and just get one of those big pyrex cups. I'll see if I can find the model #.
It's a Furick #12 pyrex. Model number depends on the torch you are fitting to.

Thanks for continuing the updates. Truly fascinating stuff. What's your background? What other projects have you done?

Mine is R&D for Polaris Industries. I've worked on the Rush snowmobile, the current Ranger 900XP, current RZR platform and several others. Matt's is in offroad racing including designing and building Shannon Campbell's Dragon Slayer and many others. Plus many industry friends looking over our shoulder to make sure we don't do anything too stupid. We our very fortunate to have found a client wanting to do something like this. Hope we can do more! :encouragement:

By all means DO NOT STOP posting this build! What you have access to, most of us can only dream about! :D The prototyping, machining, etc. are incredible! Talk about doing it right!!! Please, please, please.....more!! :D Thanks and now if you'll excuse me, I need to buy a new keyboard. Drool and electronics don't mix!! LOL

Always a good feeling when 2d starts looking more 3d.

Our lead designer Matt is only visiting for a few weeks. Hoping to have the whole chassis tacked together before he heads home. After that the posts will be slowing down.
