Hello to all,
We're getting closer to having the 1966 TR4A back from frame repair so we can start reassembly. While that work is being done we are doing a lot to get things ready.
We were trial mounting the generator. The new bracket needed some minor modification to get all the holes to line up.
When we were fitting the replacement adjustment arm we noted that the slot was made for a 5/16" through bolt. On this car the generator lug is drilled and tapped for 1/4-28 bolt. That is the size of bolt we removed but Moss sent a 5/16 bolt as a replacement.
Any insights into what we have encountered? Was there a running change to either reduce costs (drill only and no tap) or for a stronger bolt?
Thanks,
Rusty
