Rebuilding my TR6 engine - there are 2 oil gallery plugs made out of aluminum - one under the steel plate on the front, and one above the oil filter. The front one appears to be cut off flush with the block, while the one over the oil filter was pounded out to look like the head of a carriage bolt and the diameter is bigger then the thread size.
TRF sells a replacement for each that is 3 threaded sections on one rod - it is easy to thread the front one in and cut it off, but I am looking for suggestions regarding the one above the oil filter. I assume these 2 are AL to signify that they were not normally removed, but I have not run into anyone that has actually replaced these.
Has anyone here replaced these AL plugs and been able to make them look like original?
