Thanks for all the help from the various forumites on my various reassembly and get it running issues. All that is basically left is getting the top fitted (one of the few things I think I will farm out) and the bumpers, which are ready to go but yesterday I discovered that the TR4 front bumper bracket does not fit the later 4A 250 bumper.

That really is one sweet looking car. What a great job you've done. Any under hood pictures available?

I wonder what did you have to do to get to this point.....Was this a complete frame off or a rolling repair. Could you do a before and after kind of shot.....It sure looks good now......

I remember the pics you posted of this car when you first got it - wow, what a beautiful job you've done! I may have asked this before, but is that dash from Prestige? You did a fantastic job on that interior (and outside is great too!).

Very nice job, I am jealous of your skilled workmanship. I like it much better without the bumper

In answer to some of the questions, I did not have it off the frame, but everything else came off, interior, motor, suspension, and was rebuilt, replaced or refurbished, the only stuff I farmed out was the machine work on the motor and the fitting of the windshield.

Replaced the rockers and cut out and repaired rust on the upper rear valence, and some other spots, rebuilt the tranny, motor, suspension, wipers and mechanism and motor, etc. etc. etc, all works as it should now and it is a blast to drive, my most frustrating problem was getting it to charge, turned out to be a wire that was loose in the alternator plug, the "exciter wire" that provides a charge to the generator so it can charge, the wire was loose in the plug, so it tested for continuity, but did not actually make a reliable connection to the generator when I pushed the plug on, there was a lot of head scratching, testing and parts swapping before I got to that conclusion/fix.

Here is the engine compartment plus some before pictures, I got the car about two and a half years ago.

Oh yea, the dash, it is the same one you see in the before picture above, I simply chipped or heat gunned the old shellac or whatever it is off, used this old Homer Formby wood conditioner kit I had sitting around to clean and condition the wood, lightly sanded, and applied a few coats of polyurethane, I guess it darkened with age, I do like how the deep finish of the wood compliments the red exterior and black interior.

I wish I could say the paint was perfect, as the painter I am aware of little ripples and imperfections you can see from this and that angle, but overall OK I guess.

It almost seems like a shame to put the bumpers back on that car....just dreaming here at 3:38AM.

I hope you can get out and drive her this fall. What a great cruising car.

FWIW - I have 4a bumper brackets that I got for my 250...only to discover that they won't work with a TR6 swaybar mounted.

Oh, beautiful car. Well done sir.
