I'm just finishing up the paintwork on the body tub and the doors. The wheel arch covers are in place with some of the top tack rails. The car was originally Shires green with a green interior which was ok but after much deliberation and with the wife's suggestion , I decided to go with as authentic a shade of MG Red as possible and Moss' biscuit interior. The top and boot cover are both the tan Sunbrella from Moss so I won't change those out.

Looking great! I love TCs, I think they give a truer look of older sports cars, especially with the tall narrow wheels & tires. That's going to be a beautiful piece when done! :encouragement:. The paint schemes on the older models are very unique, love them. Keep the photos coming. PJ

Is the tub in Autumn Red?

I actually came upon the color from two sources; both of them led back to Tom Metcalf from Safety Fast Restorations. They specialize in Vintage MG restorations up to the TC models. Its a dead match for the color (evidently) red that was used originally on a TC. And yes it is close to the later Autumn Red that was available on the TF. I like it a lot.

Thanks for all the nice comments ! Its been nearly 2 & 1/2 years since the accident that took it off the road. I didn't want it to languish like so many of them do , so I've just been concentrating on it since then. Just a handle full of hours left before it can be driven !

Just for comparison, here is a picture of a TC in the Nethercutt collection in Sylmar, CA, one of the largest and most respected classic-car museums in the country. (There is an other T-series car, I think a TD, in another part of the museum, which requires a reservation to visit.) I think any of us can see some strange things here--the nonoriginal metallic color, chromed radiator slats, and those awful seats. It also had Alfin brake drums, chrome plated or maybe just highly polished. I couldn't get behind it to see more, as it was roped off.

I'll take yours over this one, any day.

Right on man ! Its what started it all for me and I knew someday I'd have to restore a TC ! What a wonderful and well built toy they are and its amazing how accurate "The Red Car" is when referring to the TC : " These cars were built by craftsmen , to last a lifetime , not something to be thrown away when the next model comes out".

Finally the TC is back on the road after almost 2 1/2 years ! I pushed all the other projects to the back of the shed as it were and concentrated on it exclusively as I didn't want it to end up like so many of them do; disassembled and hanging from the rafters. I did all the work myself body, paint , mechanical and am very satsfied with the results. Thanks for all the kind words !
