I'm a regular commenter on BaT (some may say too regular), particularly when it comes to Healeys large and small. The sale described it as a Moss supercharger, but BlueMax has tagged it as an obvious Judson with Marvel Mystery oiler. My take on this:
Some pretty gross errors in description here. Don’t know whether they are the seller’s or BaT’s. No Sprite or Midget ever left Abingdon with a wooden dash and even the sometimes lax BMC quality control wouldn’t have let one out the door like that. And as regor points out, unless Moss has a Wayback Machine to the Judson factory, they haven’t been selling that model for about 50 years. No signs of rust, which is great on a Spridget. Paint may be able to be saved with some spot repairs and blending. Without a test drive, I wouldn’t consider a Judson on a Spridget a plus. They seem to be pretty problematic and I’d prefer straight-up cam, head, and exhaust modifications for performance improvement over the Judson. Still and all, not a bad Sprite if you go in with your head up.
