TR6 sagging left side

Took the TR out for a 6-mile run today. Ran great. Only problem - driver's side is 1" lower than right side. I know this has been posted before, but what is the best (and cheapest way) to level it off? Car has about 104K on the original springs. Are those aluminum shims TRF sells any good? Will they do the job?

The coil seat springs may be worn, but I don't think that will fix your problem. You need to check the length of the coil spring and see if it's still in specs. I think you will probably find that the trailing arm bushings are shot and will need to be replaced. You should also check the trailing arms for any cracks. Ask me how I know? I had to do it on my TR6.

My 6 was also lower on the left side. I replaced the springs but it didn't help. I ended up with aluminum spacers from Goodparts and that did the trick.

You might want to have somebody sit in the driver's seat and see if the car is just sitting lower on the driver's side or if the wheel is actually tilting out a little.

All trailing arm bushings replaced last year along with one cracked trailing arm. Corrected the problem from two inches plus down to one inch. I'll check out the Goodparts spacer and measure the springs. It could be the left rear is down because of many miles of a heavy driver (not me!) in the seat. The car is running a little rich but I learned many years ago that if these cars are running fine - leave the carbs alone.
