any tips. I've never removed a seat but my emergency brake is stuck and I need to disconnect the cable. Figured removing the seat would be the best course. Any suggestions??

Only tip is to pay attention to the locations where the bolts are in wooden slats that fit between your seat rails and the carpet so you can reinstall into the same holes. Not sure what you mean by stuck, I assume you mean the brake handle is stuck "up" as opposed to the rear brake drums being stuck.

Push the seat as far forwardsas possible - remove the rear bolts...slide it all way back & take out the front bolts...

What Tony said.

Suggestion: You will probably find that the seat will not go as far forward as needed to reach the rear two bolts. At this point you may need to tap it forward the last few millimeters with a hammer. Be very careful here, the seat frame you will be tapping on is just steel tube, really. Use a block of wood to distribute the blows evenly, don't hit too hard, just enough to do the job. There are decades of crud preventing you from moving it forward all the way I'm sure. Clean before reassembly & spray a light cote of silicone lubricant on the runners so it moves smoother for you.

I also suggest you run a tap through the threads in the floor before reassembling, Clean the bolt threads, also use a little (you don't need much) anti-seize on the bolt threads, also.

One more tip, if you can stand it: Loosen the front bolts a bout half way so that you can lift the seat up a little when you slide it forward to make it clear the tunnel, making the rear bolts easier to access. But be careful of the carpet and the wooden spacers.
